WOEST!
Short peer review on the Woeste Mannen weblog, by Judith Al
Attracted by the wild name of the Woeste Mannen, I couldn't help but choosing their blog to write a short peer review about. As their name says; Woeste Mannen is a weblog about the question of Advertising Agency Woedend. By choosing this name they definitely show that they’re creative and have a sense of humour.
They use Blogspot, so the weblog is accessible to all. It strikes me that the question of Woedend isn’t posted on the ‘homepage’. For people who visit the weblog for the first time, it is not immediately clear what the blog is about. I started searching through the blog and this is what I found in one of the first posts: “For the course Trends and Strategies in the Creative Industries we have a Case from a company called Woedend Communicatie. For this Case we must look for a (creative) concept which blends all media together. Follow this blog to find out which concept we will come up with.” It might be better to provide some more information about Woedend and post the video with the question on the first page of the weblog. There are a lot of posts about Red Bull which are interesting, but visitors might think that Red Bull is the main focus of your weblog.
The blog also provides information about the team, every member has introduced himself in a short post. They also claim: “At this site you'll find the things we're so passionated about: ourself. I won't call the ideas we have magnificent, I even more would like to mark them down as brilliant!” Apart from the spelling mistakes, you guys are a bit full of yourselves right? ;)
Ok, now some good things about your blog..! There isn't a lot of unnecessary information on the weblog, it’s all very clear. I really like the 'Woeste Mannen Tag', which you can make a photo of and then you’ll be redirected to the Woeste Mannen weblog. I tried this with my phone, but I didn’t succeed. I’m afraid I’m not that technical... Though it is easy to navigate through the blog and the articles are easy to read, it is not very distinctive from other weblogs. You could make the weblog more special by using a different background or maybe add a photo.
Unfortunately I don’t have the time to read all of your posts (I’m sure they are very interesting), but after taking a quick look at them, I can say that it looks good! The posts are not too long (except for some of them), the texts are easy to read and the font is clear. Video’s and presentations are embedded in the posts, which is really good.
One last recommendation: make use of the 'read more' button. Now there are some large texts displayed on the weblog, which create a long list of articles, but no clear overview. The only way you can navigate through the posts is by clicking on a month (archive) and then you get all the entries of that month (take a look at our blog for some inspiration).
So guys... maybe a spelling check once in a while wouldn’t hurt :) But despite of my comments, you did a great job.
Keep up the good work!
