To our BNN ‘colleagues’ peer review from Kirsten

For this peer assignment I have chosen the weblog from Ellen, Wouter and Johnny, TSCI 2009 to give it a short assessment. The weblog TSCI caught my intention because of the same topic we both share, but also the formation of the group (one woman and two though guys) interested me a lot. This because guys are not only very straight to the point in the way they are writing, they are not so precisely as girls in picking the right lay-out for the weblog. I can imagine that it’s difficult for one woman to work with 3 (leo left the university) other guys.

When I analyzed the weblog on the lay-out it looked very neat and clear. I very much like the fact they put everything in SCRIBD because you don’t have to scroll down a lot and you have direct access to print the articles. Also the fact that they used slide share is definitely a plus for me. One point I missed in the lay out were some overall pictures or some models you could have used into the articles.

The articles look very nice. When you are reading them you can see that they are giving their own opinions about the topic and also use good sources. However sometimes it could have been a bit more internet sources. They used a lot of books but BNN and television and IPTV is very new so they could have uses some internet sources. But this is only a small recommendation. Overall it looks very nice and I really like the article “copying tv formats is it bad?” From Johnny because he writes very interesting and he gave a few nice and up-to-date examples. You can see that there is some consistency between the articles of the group members. What is very good if you know that one group member left the group because he dropped out of school.

The last credits go to Ellen! Not only she posted almost all articles online (didn’t know that she has such technical skills) You also did a good job working between two guys!!
